Sonja Parker is the director of Partnering for Safety in Australia. She was married to Andrew Turnell for a brief time and sat in on dozens of his Signs of Safety training sessions. She once told a story about the first few families she worked with using the Signs of Safety approach. She said she just couldn't get a network. The families just didn't have anyone to call. But by the third family, she realized the problem wasn't with the families. The problem was hers. She found someone to help her think it through and from then on in every family she worked with quickly got a safety network around the children.
