A clear written description of all the things anyone is worried about is the most important beginning step in safety planning. In order for parents to bring a safety network around their children, they must first be clear about their own worries, and they must understand all the things others are worried about.  As much as possible, the description must be written in a way that parents, relatives and friends, and any involved child protection authorities agree completely and fairly describes all the worries. If the parents, or anyone else, doesn't agree with any of the things someone else wants included in the description, the description should list who agrees with the worry and who does not.
